Wtg Kev!!! Great find! I admire the way you took this monster apart and put it back together without left over bolts and nuts. YAY!!!

I did a complete tear-down and rebuild of the same model saw. I went so far as to sand and repaint the body exterior and interior and the trunion. I'm not afraid to say that it looks pretty durn cool, better than factory new. I HIGHLY suggest you look into a new link belt to replace the stock one and upgrade your fence to the Delta T-3. It'll take some minor adjustments to make it mate up but it's a massive improvement over the stock fence.

I have the same saw. I changed out the fence and went with the accu-fence. It really made the saw perform a lot better.

To take the motor off you loosen the 2 - 1/2" bolts that are on top of the round rods that slide into the housing. That way the whole motor assy. comes off real easy. Also the adjuster bolt that you took the ratchet to should ALWAYS be loose so when you adjust the height of the blade while it's tilted the motor can give and needs to adjust it's self. The weight of the motor will give you all the tension thats needed. I have rebuilt 20 to 30 of these saws over the years. I have picked them up all the way from free to no more than $50 an sell them for $100 to $125. They are going to out last all the junk for years thats on the market now.

DUDE!!! You got yourself a new saw there! It's pristine looking and has obviously been well taken care of. No gum or grime underneath and looks to be in great shape! That saw will last your lifetime and be great too. Steve Carmichael @thecarmichaelworkshop uses the same saw too! Awesome score.

I still have this saw I bought sometime around 1990. It was one of the best table saws i've had. Just recently decided to tune it up and use it again. I've been using an industrial powermatic.

Picked one these up on marketplace today for $20. It was a package deal and this saw was in the pile. It's in great shape. I don't have room for it so I'm here just to see what she's made of.

I have a very similar saw (different year, same model). This guy is going to serve you well.

Looking forward to more videos on this saw. On February 23, 2022 I bought a Craftsman 10 inch Contractor Table Saw model 113.298720C with a 1.5 hp motor off of Facebook Marketplace for $50 in Canada. The only missing item is the blade guard assembly from the pivot up. I found one on eBay and ordered it, but it is costing me $150 CDN and most of that cost is shipping.

Nice upgrade. Those old Craftsman saws are pretty decent. I use WD-40 and wet sand with 400 grit to get my saw top free of rust. Clean with naptha after and then wax it with furniture wax, thinned with a bit of 3 in 1 oil if you wish.

You had me at the use of "making sawdust"! A good friend of mine got me interested in woodworking, or making sawdust as he called it. We were both in software development so woodworking is hobby, not livelihood. I have a Jet Contractor saw which is, likely, made by the same folk that made yours. We moved from where I bought it and the movers clearly were less than careful. I've had bad kickback twice now, it burns wood and the blade is off 10/1000th. I'm jealous you can still pick yours up and move it. I cannot at this point. I do have to realign the blade. Hopefully that'll fix it. Hopefully you'll be realigning yours. Hey Kevin , I have a 12” craftsman table saw direct drive 2hr power 220 volt, I got it new back in 1974 at sears! Still using it today! Regards BobLee

Kevin, I have the exact same saw. I’ve had it for at least 22 years; I got it from my mother after my father died 25 years ago. He had it at least 10 years. Great saw once it is all adjusted. I bought a Biesemeyer fence for it, best investment ever. I also made and mounted a router table for it. That saw will outlive both of us. I look forward to seeing how you mount a riving knife/splitter to it.

I just gave a saw exactly like that to my neighbor. Had for 30 years and great condition. Bought a new one

I have 2 of these. Suckers weight a ton with the wings on. One came with 2 of the metal pan wings attached to 2 of the cast iron wings. looked like a air plane. Only bad thing with these saws is that you can't put a link belt on it and then raise the blade all the way up because the arbor pulley comes so close to the top that the belt will rub. They are really good saws though.
